CoNova Medical Technology (hereinafter “we”, “our”, “us”, or “CMT”) is the developer of AIA AlignPro (the “App”). We are committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who provide us with their personal information. This Personal Information Collection Statement (PICS) explains how we collect, use, disclose, and handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) in Hong Kong.
We collect personal information for the following purposes:
a) To register an user account in the App;
b) To provide personalized exercise plans to App users to help manage their low back pain;
c) To increase the awareness of low back pain management, and provide a convenient tool for selfcare and
prevention
from
further injury and worsening of pain;
d) To provide high level assessment on users’ back condition and early detection of back issues;
e) To improve user experience based on user feedback and usage data.
f) To collect individual-specific responses to low back pain exercise plans for the purpose of medical research.
We may collect the following types of personal information directly from you through the App:
a) Contact information, including your name and AIA business email address;
b) Demographic information, including your age range, height and weight;
c) Information about your low back pain and medical history, which you may choose to provide to us voluntarily;
d) Individual-specific responses to exercise include pain intensity, self-assessed core stability, rating of
perceived
exertion, daily functional score, and mental health evaluation, which you may choose to provide to us voluntarily;
e) Photos of your bare back for optional screening for scoliosis.
f) Records of user behavior, such as logins and exercise sessions through timestamps.
We will keep your data confidential, but we may disclose and transfer personal information to third parties for the
purposes stated above, including:
a) Data related user behavior may be shared with your employer, for the purpose of managing staff engagement and
evaluation of App performance.
b) Demographic information, information about your low back pain and medical history, and individual-specific
responses
to low back pain exercise plans for the purpose of medical research purposes may be shared with medical researchers
who
works for CoNova Medical Technology after strict data anonymization for the purpose of medical research.
c) Regulatory and government authorities, as required by law.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. This includes implementing physical, technical, and organizational measures, such as data encryption, access controls, and employee training.
Each campaign consists of 14 weeks, during which CMT will be supporting the App performance and AIA’s incentive
programmes using the user’s behavior records. All user data will be deleted one month of the campaign end date. CMT
will
not retain the personal data for longer than one month for the research purposes.
You have the right to access and correct your personal information held by us. You may also request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations and legitimate interests. You may choose to delete your bare back photo from the system anytime. To exercise these rights or make any inquiries, please contact us at service@conovamed.com
By using our app, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as set out in this PICS. We may update this PICS from time to time, and the latest version will be available on our app.
